چکیده

In medium/high power applications, including smart transformers, active filters, and wind turbines, three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverters proved to be a reliable solution, providing high efficiency low harmonic distortion. practice, several NPCs are parallel connected operated in interleaved manner further increase the handling reduce line filters size. However, if such configuration has common dc-link, high-frequency zero-sequence circulating current (HF-ZSCC) arises among inverters, increasing losses of switching devices propagating stress on dc-capacitors. Moreover, amplitude HF-ZSCC is inversely proportional filter inductance size, therefore real it can reach hundreds amperes even with relatively output currents. The research mostly concentrated two-level for voltage grids traction where size big does not affect system efficiency. Differently, provide higher degree freedom more sophisticated methods applied HF-ZSCC. This article investigates double-reference pulsewidth modulation (DRPWM) as solution diminishing paralleled NPCs. performance DRPWM method confirmed by both simulation experiments, performed 1.6-MVA system.

Circulating Current Reduction Strategy for Parallel-Connected Inverters Based IPT Systems

Multiple inverters connected in parallel is a promising method to upgrade the power capacity of inductive power transfer (IPT) systems. Due to a slight unbalance of the control signals, the inner resistances of the inverters and other uncertainties, circulating currents exist among the parallel units which reduce the reliability of IPT systems. Firstly, the series-parallel resonant tank is empl...

The Analysis and Simulation to the Parallel Connected NPC-PWM Inverters

This paper intmduces the circuit and PWM control strategies of the Neutral-Point-Clamped (NPC) inverter and Cascade-Inverters with Separate DC Source (CISDS), analyzes and compares their advantages and disadvantages. A new type of Parallel Connected NPC inverter (PCNPCI) is proposed here. Based on inherited all merits of the three-level structures, only added very few components, it can produce...

Load Sharing Control of Parallel Inverters with Uncertainty in the Output Filter Impedances for Islanding Operation of AC Micro-Grid

Parallel connection of inverter modules is a solution to increase reliability, efficiency and redundancy of inverters in Micro-Grid system. Proper load sharing among parallel inverters is a key point. The circulating current among the inverters can greatly reduce the efficiency or even cause instability of the system. In this paper, a control strategy for improving the load sharing performance ...

Current Regulator Instabilities on Parallel Voltage Source Inverters

Parallel inverters are often used to meet system power requirements beyond the capacity of the largest single structure. They have also been used to reduce harmonics, reduce PWM switching frequency and increase available output voltage or frequency. The type of parallel structure depends on the construction of the load motor, the most prevalent are dual three phase machines, split-phase machine...
